The interaction of two Chinese medicinal ingredients and human serum albumin (HSA) has been investigated by high performance affinity chromatography (HPAC). HSA bounded silica-based stationary phase ...was prepared based on the "click chemistry" strategy, and packed in a column (named as HSA column). The drug-HSA binding ratio was calculated from the difference of the drug's retention times on the HSA column and silica column (blank column). The warfarin-HSA binding ratio determined by this method was similar to the reference reported value by ultrafiltration method. The results indicated that the new HSA column and the HPAC method can be used for the detection of binding ratio of drug and HSA. The binding ratios of puerarin and goitrin determined by the HPAC method were 10.26% and 10.20%, respectively. And the binding ratio of puerarin determined by ultrafiltration was 14.25%. All these results showed that HPAC is a useful method to investigate the interaction between drugs and protein.
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a common type of cancer, with approximately 260,000 new cases each year, and liver cirrhosis is generally considered a major predisposing factor for HCC. However, ...specific changes of gene expression in liver cirrhosis and HCC remain obscure. The expression of genes for hepatocyte growth factor (HGF), its receptor c-met proto-oncogene, c-myc proto-oncogene, and albumin was analyzed. Gene expression was studied by PCR in seven normal human livers, nine cases of hepatitis C cirrhosis, 12 cases of alcoholic cirrhosis, two cases of liver adenoma, and 12 cases of HCC. HGF and c-met protein were revealed by immunofluorescent staining. HGF mRNA was not expressed in normal livers but was detected in adenomas, in 80% of HCC, and in some cirrhoses. Paraffin-embedded and fresh-frozen tissue samples yielded similar results. Immunohistochemical data correlated with PCR results regarding the overexpression of the HGF/c-met system in HCC. Albumin gene expression was decreased in HCC vs normal livers, consistent with altered function of tumor hepatocytes. The elevated expression of the HGF/c-met system in HCC may play a role in tumor development and/or progression. Tissue localization studies of HGF and its receptor c-met protein support the existence of both autocrine and paracrine mechanisms of action of HGF in HCC vs only a paracrine mechanism in normal liver.
Tämä opinnäytetyö käsittelee hopeagelatiinivedoksia yksityisen valokuvakokoelman kautta. Opinnäytetyössä perehdytään valokuvien historiaan, käsitellään hopeagelatiinivedoksen rakenteellisia ja ...materiaalisia ominaisuuksia sekä perehdytään kokoelmasta valittujen kohteiden konservointiin. Konservoinnin osalta tavoitteena on turvata kokoelman säilyminen ja mahdollistaa kohteiden kannalta turvallinen kokoelman käyttö. Lopuksi on kerätty yleisimpiä suosituksia valokuvien säilytyksestä.
Kokoelmaan kuuluu noin 600 valokuvaa, joista suurin osa on hopeagelatiinivedoksia. Kokoelmassa on muitakin valokuvatyyppejä ja yhteensä neljä valokuva-albumia. Konservoitavaksi opinnäytetyössä valittiin yksi valokuva-albumi 1950-luvulta, joka sisälsi valokuvia 1930-luvulta 1950-luvulle. Kokoelman irrallisista valokuvista valittiin huonokuntoisimmat yksilöt konservoitaviksi. Ennen konservointia konservoitavat kohteet dokumentoitiin ja valokuvattiin.
Kokoelman suuren koon vuoksi yksityiskohtaista tutkimusta ja konservointia ei voitu tehdä jokaiselle valokuvalle. Kokoelmasta eroteltiin valokuvat, joissa oli eniten vaurioita ja vauriotyyppien pohjalta valittiin sopivat konservointitoimenpiteet. Konservointitoimenpiteiksi valikoitui yksinkertaisia valokuvien säilymistä edistäviä toimenpiteitä, kuten kuivapuhdistus, valokuvien suoristus, repeämien paikkaus ja tahrojen poisto.
1950-luvun valokuva-albumin konservoinnissa keskityttiin suurimmaksi osaksi kansien konservointiin. Kansien selkäosa oli repaleinen ja käytössä vahingoittunut. Uusien repeämien ja vaurioiden välttämiseksi albumin kannet haluttiin korjata. Vanhaa ulkonäköä haluttiin kunnioittaa, joten konservoinnissa päädyttiin vanhojen materiaalien tukemiseen. Tuloksena oli siistimpi ja ehyempi kokonaisuus. Valokuva-albumin sivuilla oleville valokuville päädyttiin tekemään myös pieniä korjaus- ja konservointitoimenpiteitä. Irralliset valokuvat kiinnitettiin takaisin sivuille paperisilla kuvakulmilla ja repeytyneitä valokuvia paikattiin japaninpaperilla ja metyyliselluloosalla.
The subject of this thesis is private collection of photographs. Collection contains silver gelatin prints, but also other photograph types. There are over 600 prints in the collection and four photograph albums. One photograph album was selected to be conserved which was from the 1950’s and contains photographs from the 1930’s to the 1950’s. A Few other silver gelatin prints were selected for conservation from the collection. Before any conservation treatments, the objects were documented and photographed.
The collection was very large. Size of the collection prevented detailed research and conservation of every individual print. Only prints of poor condition ware selected to conservation. Conservation treatments were chosen based on deterioration and defects of the prints. The selected conservation treatments for the photographs were dry cleaning, flattening of curled prints, mending tears and cracks, filling areas of loss and stain removal.
The cover of the 1950’s photograph album has tears at a spine. In order to avoid new tears and damages, the album cover was repaired. The repair was done by respectfully maintaining album’s old appearance by leaving the old material and only supporting by new material. Some photographs on the album’s pages were damaged. Typical damages were tears and cracks, and some of prints were fallen off the pages. They were repaired with japanese paper, methylcellulose and self-made photograph corners.

My thesis is based on my grandfathers old photo album and the texts found within it. Some of my grandparents belongings also take part. My visual part is a book. I recreate the photo album from scratch in my own point of view. In the written part I ponder how photos and items shape ones identity. What do old photos and items tell of their owners thru fresh interpretation?
Društvena mreža za objavu i uređivanje slikovnih datoteka je web aplikacija napisana u PHP-u uz pomoć Laravel razvojnog okruženja, osim Laravela korištene su još neke tehnologije kao što je MySQL, ...HTML i CSS.
Mogućnosti ove društvene mreže su izrada privatnih i javnih albuma, prijenos fotografija, uređivanje fotografija te mogućnost objave fotografija. Iz svakog albuma možemo objaviti po jednu fotografiju koja tada ima mogućnost biti ocijenjena od strane drugih članova društvene mreže. Svaka fotografija dobiva medalju na osnovu glasova.
Također postoji i administracijsko sučelje za upravljanje drugim korisnicima te njihovi albumima, fotografijama i objavama.
The social network for publishing and editing image files is a web application written in PHP with help of Laravel framework, besides Laravel there are some other technologies like MySQL, HTML and CSS.
Features of this social network are making private and public photo albums, uploading photos, editing photos and publishing photos on the news feed. From each album only one photo can be chosen and published on news feed. After the publishing photo, it gets possibility to be voted. Each photo gets a medal that depends on the votes.
Also, this social network has an administration panel for managing members and theirs albums, photos and publishes.
V magistrskem delu smo prikazali razvoj uporabnišskega vmesnika "Album Slovenije: osebni spomini 20. stoletja", namenjenega samostojnim prispevkom uporabnikov na domoznanskem spletnem portalu Kamra. ...Predstavili smo teoretične in tehnološke podlage vzpostavitve Albuma Slovenije in se nato dotaknili naslednjih razvojnih faz: pridobivanja vsebin, reševanja vprašanj avtorskih pravic in pravic varovanja osebnih podatkov, uredniške politike in načrtovanja uporabniškega vmesnika, vključno z njegovim vkomponiranjem v obstoječo Kamro. Po implementaciji smo Album Slovenije evalvirali z dvema ekspertnima študijema, identificirali uporabnikom neustrezne razvojne rešitve, podali predloge izboljšav in nakazali nove možnosti za njegov razvoj. S prvim vrednotenjem smo za okvir primerjave z Albumom Slovenije uporabili sklop težav in pripadajočih smernic uporabnosti spletnih strani, ki sta jih Nielsen in Loranger identificirala kot najpogosteje spregledane in problematične. Od 34- ih opazovanih težav smo jih v Albumu Slovenje prepoznali 10: povezave, ki po uporabi ne spremenijo barve, brskalnikov nedelujoči gumb "nazaj", odpiranje novih oken v brskalniku, kršitve spletnih pravil v delovanju iskalnika in prikazovanju metapodatkov, dolgi in neberljivi teksti, neprimerna rangiranja rezultatov iskanja, nekompatibilnost platform, okvirji (frame), negotovih klikih in (pre)zgodnjo registracijo. Z drugo študijo smo se osredotočili na Album Slovenije v funkciji digitalne knjižnice, v evalvacijski okvir smo zajeli sistem za poizvedovanje. Z metodama person in scenarijev, uporabljenima v ta namen, smo zaznali težave na področjih informacijske arhitekture, funkcionalnosti iskalnih orodij, navigacije, prilagodljivosti vmesnika, avtentikacije uporabnikov in nudenje pomoči. Za vsako težavo smo poiskali ustrezno rešitev, s podajo novih predlogov interaktivne uporabe sistema smo nakazali možnosti za njegov nadaljnji razvoj. Izvedeni ekspertni študiji sta tudi dobra osnova uporabniškim študijam, ki za Album Slovenije in za matični portal Kamra doslej še niso bile izvedene, so pa vsekakor priporočljive.
In this thesis we show the development path of the user interface "Album of Slovenia: personal memories of the 20th century", which has been designed to allow users to independently add contributions on the web portal Kamra. We have presented the theoretical and technological basis of the establishment of the Album of Slovenia and then explained the following developmental stages: acquisition of content, solving the matter of copyright and the protection of personal data, editorial policy and the design of the user interface, including its embedment in the existing web portal Kamra. Album of Slovenia was after its implementation evaluated trough two expert studies. We have identified inadequate development solutions and proposed improvements and new development options for the future. For the evaluation of the usefulness of the user interface we used a set of problems and associated guidelines of the usefulness of websites that Nielsen and Loranger in their user studies identi fied as the most commonly overlooked and problematic. From the 34 observed problems we identified 10 of them in the Album of Slovenia. With the second study we have focused on Album of Slovenia as a digital library, taking the request system in the evaluation frame. We have studied problems in the information architecture, functionality of the search tools, navigation, user interface customisation, authentication and support with the methods of personas and scenarios. For each inconsistency we have come up with an adequate solution and proposed innovative ideas about interactive use to stream future development. Both expert studies are also a good basis for user studies that were recommended but never carried out for Album of Slovenia and its mother portal Kamra.

The photo album method used in this
functional thesis helps intellectually disabled
persons to see and understand all the good things in their life, what else they could
still achieve and from where they could get strength in the future, too.
By dreaming about new things, by understandin
g what to strive for and what one is
actually able to do an individual opens up new horizons to act in this world and to see
that one belongs in it. By strengthening one’s own identity it is possible to become
stronger and get means to get along and manage
one’s own life.
Even though the photo method is well known today, there are still only few work en-
vironments where it is utilized in everyday work.
The major objective of this development work is to make the photo album method a
commonplace acti
vity in the working environment. The intellectually disabled living
in group homes benefit from drafting this kind of a photo album and using it in impro-
ving their own identity.
This thesis describes in detail the process of making a photo album. The
result of this
development work is a picture book and by making and using it an intellectually di-
sabled person gets a valuable tool for understanding one’s own identity and contents
of life. The picture book also helps the group home staff to support the r
esidents in
their efforts to build up their own identity and to help in their empowerment. The ana-
lysis in this development work is based on a diary and observations, which provided a
research element to this thesis work thereby better disclosing the effec
ts of the photo
album on the process of the empowerment work.
Opinnäytetyössäni tutkin miehen esiintymistä ja esittämistä perhealbumeissa. Keskeisimmät tutkimuskysymykset ovat, millaisissa tilanteissa ja paikoissa miehiä on kuvattu? Miten mies käyttäytyy ...valokuvissa?
Lähdin tutkimaan miehen esiintymistä valokuvissa ensin albumikuvan historian kautta. Tämän jälkeen tutkin miesten esiintymistä perhealbumeissa. Perehdyin kymmeneen valokuva-albumiin, joista neljä otin lähempään tarkasteluun. Tutkin näitä valokuvia kehittämäni analyysikehikon avulla.
Tukittuani perhealbumit esiin nousi muutama yleinen ja ristiriitainen seikka albumien kesken. Yleistä oli miehen runsas esiintyminen albumeissa sekä kuvausmiljöiden samankaltaisuus albumien välillä. Valokuvaus on tapahtunut suurimmalta osin kodin lähipiirissä ja matkoilla. Yleinen huomio oli myös miehen ja lapsen välisen suhteen esittämisen runsaus.
Suurimpia eroja miesten esiintymisen kesken oli havaittavissa vanhimmassa tutkimassani albumissa verrattuna muihin tutkimiini albumeihin, jossa miehet esiintyivät miltei aina ryhmissä. Myös huumorin esittäminen ja näkyminen oli hyvin eritasoista eri albumeissa. Eroja oli myös havaittavissa miesten luomassa katsekontaktissa kameraan/kuvaajaan.
Most vital questions in my thesis are how men are acting and performing in family albums? What kinds of places and situations men have been photographed?
First I investigate history of family albums. Then I started to explore the family albums. I explored ten albums and after that I took four albums in more precise examination. I explored photographs with self created list of questions.
There were few most common notes between different family albums. There was much more men than I expected. In overall there were lots more men than women. In every album families have photographed at home and holidays.
The biggest differences between albums were how humor was created and showed. Another matter was amount of group photographs. Most of the pictures in one album were group photographs. There were also differences between how men created the eye-contact to the camera.
Opinnäytetyöni kertoo siitä kuinka rahoitin oman musiikkialbumini julkaisun vastikkeellisen joukkorahoituskampanjan avulla vuonna 2015 ja koostuu kirjallisesta raportista sekä CD-tallenteesta. ...Työni tavoitteena on jakaa tietoa muille artisteille, bändeille tai kenelle tahansa, ketkä ovat kiinnostuneita vastikkeellisesta joukkorahoituksesta oman projektinsa rahoittamiseksi.
Opinnäytetyöni on soveltava tutkimus, jossa analysoin omaa kampanjaani: sen valmistelua, toteutusta ja tuloksia. Käytin myös muita tutkimuksia sekä aiheeseen liittyvää kirjallisuutta oman työni lähteinä.
Työstäni käy ilmi, että kampanjan onnistumiseen vaikuttavat mm. huolellinen suunnittelu, kampanjavideon tekeminen, kampanjatiimin kasaaminen, aktiivinen markkinointi sekä uusien vastikkeiden lisääminen kampanjan aikana. Onnistuneissa kampanjoissa toiveita ja ideoita uusien vastikkeiden sisältöön pyydettiin kohdeyleisöltä.
Oman kampanjani kautta opin, että rahoitettava tuote kannattaa toimittaa tukijoille vasta pari päivää ennen sen virallista julkaisua, jotta ennakkomyynti voisi tuoda haluttua näkyvyyttä tuotteen julkaisemisen yhteydessä. Näin myös riski tuotteen ennenaikaiseen vuotamiseen olisi pienempi. Opin myös, että oman työn helpottamiseksi, vastikkeiden sisältö kannattaa pitää mahdollisimman helposti toteutettavana ja niiden toimitusajat ilmoittaa ympäripyöreästi.
Tutkielmassani totean, että englanninkieliset joukkorahoitusalustat soveltuvat parhaiten kansainväliseen kampanjointiin. Itse käytin IndieGoGo-sivustoa ja otin huomioon suomalaiset tukijani mm. tarjoamalla tietoa kahdella kielellä koko kampanjani ajan.
Kampanjani tavoitesumma oli 10 000 dollaria, josta keräsin 60 päivän pituisen kampanjani aikana 86% eli $8600 ja kampanjan päätyttyä lisätilauksien avulla $1500. Keräsin yhteensä $10 100 ja julkaisin Sound Mind -albumini elokuussa 2015.
Johtopäätöksenä voin todeta, että hyvin suunniteltu ja toteutettu joukkorahoituskampanja on hyvä rahoituskeino sekä oivaa esimarkkinointia omalle projektille.
My project report explains how I funded the release of my independent music album through a rewards-based crowdfunding campaign in 2015. The final project consists of a written report and a CD recording. The purpose of this thesis is to share knowledge and information with other artists, bands and anyone who is interested in crowdfunding their own project.
In this study, I analyze the preparation, execution and results of my own campaign. The sources include relevant research and literature.
I discovered that successful campaigns are thoroughly planned, include a pitch video, have a team behind them, are actively marketed and add new perks during the campaign, among other things. Successful campaigners listened to their audience to release new perks tailored specifically to meet the wants and needs of the community.
Through my own campaign, I learned that the funded product should not be delivered to the backers until a few days before its official release so that the hype from delivered pre-sold albums could help market the release. It would also minimize the risk of backers pre-maturely leaking the music. I learned that in order to make the campaigners’ life easier, the content of the perks should be made as easy to execute as possible and the estimated delivery dates should be nonspecific estimates.
In my study, I came to the conclusion that an international crowdfunding platform works better than a Finnish one, if you are trying to reach an international audience. I used IndieGoGo as my platform and I took the Finnish backers into consideration by offering information in both English and Finnish throughout the whole campaign.
My goal was to raise $10 000. I raised 86% during the 60-day campaign and $1 500 after the campaign ended with additional orders. I raised $10 100 altogether and released my album Sound Mind in August 2015.
I conclude that a well planned and executed crowdfunding campaign is a good way to fund and pre-market one’s own project.
