V svoji diplomski nalogi sem obravnavala ločitev in vlogo šolske svetovalne službe pri podpori otroka. V teoretičnem delu sem predstavila različne definicije družine, značilnosti družinskega življenja v Sloveniji in pomembnost vzgoje otrok s strani obeh staršev. The diploma thesis deals with divorce and the role of school counselor to give support to the child. The theoretical part presents the different definitions of family, characteristics of family life in Slovenia and the importance of being raised by both parents. Definition of separation, divorce statistics in Slovenia and the impact of divorce on children is also described. An important issue that is mentioned in the diploma thesis is the time after the divorce. Because of that, an entire chapter is devoted to this problem, where common problems that children have after separation and child contacts with parents after divorce are described. The last chapter of the theoretical part is about school counselors, principles which must be obeyed by school counselor, important characteristics of school counselor and counseling to the child. The empirical part shows the findings through three interviews with people whose parents divorced during elementary school. None of the three interviewees had support from school counselors because of the separation. Two interviewees were able to talk with the mother, who helped them a lot, one interviewee had help at the time of separation from the class teacher. Both interviewees who didn’t have the support you would like to have a chance to speak to a person who is was not involved in the divorce.
